Questions about Chart & OI profile

What does open interest tell me?

Open interest is the number of option contracts still open at a strike. Large open interest shows where traders have committed money, which is why those strikes often act as support or resistance into expiry.

What is max pain?

Max pain is the strike at which option buyers, in total, would lose the most if the market expired there. Price often drifts toward it near expiry, though not always.

Can I trade directly from the OI chart?
